The City of Minnetonka is preparing for the Cedar Bend Pond Improvement Project located at the intersection of Cedar Hills Boulevard and Cedar Bend.

This project includes:

  • Removal of excess sediment, trash and debris
  • Removal of trees that have grown within the pond
  • Replacing aging storm sewer pipes
  • Improving pond function and water quality treatment
  • Restoration with native vegetation

Project Schedule

Construction is scheduled to begin in late March with tree and brush removals. The remainder of the project may be completed in phases and is expected to be around a couple weeks of construction activity, with final restoration and project completion by the end of May.

Detailed information regarding the construction schedule will be communicated via the project website and email/text updates. Please subscribe for updates to stay informed. Schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change.

Traffic Impacts

Construction access will be from Cedar Bend. During construction, there will be minimal traffic impacts. Cedar Bend may be reduced to one lane temporarily to allow staging and access to the pond. The contractor will provide traffic control as necessary. Access for residents and businesses will be maintained throughout the project.

Please follow construction signs, watch for traffic pattern changes and drive carefully through construction areas.

Will I be assessed?

No. The City of Minnetonka does not assess for these improvements. The project is funded through the city’s Stormwater Improvement Fund.
