At its Aug. 25, 2025 meeting, the city council adopted an off-leash dog implementation plan for Purgatory Park and authorized a no-parking zone on Stodola Road, east of the cul-de-sac to Creek Park Drive.

The initial phase of the plan includes full signage implementation; a complaint reporting system for rapid response and enforcement tracking considerations; and a plan for future considerations including enforcement, barrier fencing installation, effectiveness and accessibility.

Council directed staff to research and implement, if possible, an off-leash walking corridor from the parking lot to areas 2 and 3 which minimizes impacts on sensitive areas and to report back to council by June 2, 2026.
