Project open house on June 17
Residents are invited to an open house to review the preliminary designs for the Libbs Lake Bridge Replacement project. Join us Wednesday, June 17, from 5-7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Minnetonka Community Center at 14600 Minnetonka Blvd.
The City of Minnetonka is preparing design work for the Libbs Lake Bridge Replacement Project located over the channel between Libbs Lake and Gray’s Bay. See the project area map.
The bridge replacement is not scheduled until 2029; however, design work is needed in the city’s efforts to pursue grant funding for this project. This bridge was originally constructed in 1969 and is reaching the end of its service life. This project includes the replacement of the bridge, roadway and associated utilities.
Project schedule
Preliminary design has begun for the bridge replacement and design is planned through the end of 2026, at which time the City of Minnetonka will apply for state funding.
- June 17, 2026 – Public open house
- Late 2026 – Apply for state funding
- 2029 – Construction (tentative and pending project funding)
