Purgatory Park is Minnetonka’s largest regional park. This 155-acre gem is a regional destination for walkers, nature lovers and bird watchers, among others. With more than two miles of trails winding around Purgatory Creek, the park is well loved and well used by residents from Minnetonka and beyond.

    The Purgatory Park draft master plan is available for review and feedback. The Park Board is scheduled to review the plan at its next meeting on March 6.

    The Purgatory Park draft master plan is scheduled to be released to the public for review and comment in late February. It will include instructions on how to access the document and continue to provide feedback. This draft plan will also be presented to the Park Board at their March 6, 2024 meeting for their feedback.

    Feedback from both the public and the Park Board during this comment period will be considered for the final draft plan scheduled to be presented to the Park Board at their May 1, 2024, where the board will consider a recommendation to the City Council.

    The Purgatory Park draft Master Plan is scheduled to be presented to the Minnetonka Park Board for the first time in March. The formal comment period for the master plan will commence around that time and extend until May.

    To enhance public engagement further, staff-initiated discussions with the Park Board on topics within the master plan have already begun, with the first session taking place on Jan. 3. Another topic conversation is scheduled for the Feb. 7 Park Board meeting. That meeting will include the following business item: Purgatory Park Master Plan - Preliminary Strategies Regarding Dogs. Public comments will be accepted during this meeting.

    We also encourage park visitors to share feedback in the project guestbook. The comments received will be thoroughly discussed at the Park Board meeting in May, where the board will consider a recommendation.
