Council will vote on project March 9

City Council will review the Excelsior Boulevard improvement project at its March 9 meeting. The council will be asked to approve a resolution to receive the feasibility report, approve the concept layout and authorize the plans and easement acquisitions.

Last month, the council took a closer look at plans during the Feb. 9 study session. At that meeting, the council expressed support for proposing trails on both sides of Excelsior Boulevard as well as intersection roundabouts. Staff members were also asked to limit impacts to properties along the boulevard as much as possible.

The council also directed staff to include a sidewalk segment on the northwest corner of County 101 and Old Excelsior Boulevard connecting the county highway and the Havenwood of Minnetonka Senior Living facility.

The council meeting will be held March 9 at 14600 Minnetonka Blvd. in the second-floor council chambers. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m.
