Tree pruning and vegetation management in your neighborhood

What to expect

The City will prune trees and manage roadside vegetation in your neighborhood between November 2026 and March 2027. This work is provided at no cost to property owners and helps keep roads safe and prepare for future street maintenance.

City staff will oversee the project, and the contractor will have an ISA Certified Arborist on site throughout the work.

Why is this work needed?

  • Improve visibility and safety for drivers and pedestrians.
  • Keep roads clear for vehicles and future street maintenance.
  • Maintain healthy trees and remove hazardous branches.

What work will be done?

  • Raise tree canopies to provide approximately 18 feet of road clearance and 6 feet from the curb, as site conditions allow.
  • Remove dead, broken, or hazardous branches.
  • Cut back vegetation blocking signs or sightlines.
  • Remove right-of-way trees that pose future risks to the road.
  • Treat buckthorn stumps to help prevent regrowth, where present.

What is the right-of-way?

The right-of-way is the area along the street reserved for roads, sidewalks, and utilities. The City manages trees and vegetation in this area for public safety. Please avoid planting trees or shrubs within 10 feet of the road.
