Cedar Lake Road Improvement Project

Road Closure

Cedar Lake Road is closed at the following locations:

1. Between Hedberg Drive and Cedar Hills Boulevard
2. Between Royals Drive and Marcy Lane
3. Between Ford Road and Cedar Crest Road West

Access to homes, businesses and side streets will remain accessible during the closure. Please see map for detour routes. This closure will end the evening of Aug. 26.

This week’s progress:

• Concrete work was completed
• Median construction was completed
• Roadway milling was completed

Next week’s activities:

• Roadway paving
• Roadway striping
• Sign installation
• Signal systems will be completed
• Miscellaneous restoration and punch list items

Road Closure

Cedar Lake Road will be closed in the following locations beginning August 12:

1. Between Hedberg Drive and Cedar Hills Boulevard
2. Between Royals Drive and Marcy Lane
3. Between Ford Road and Cedar Crest Road West

Access to homes, businesses and side streets will remain accessible during the closure. The north detour route will send motorists north on Hwy 169 to west 394, then south on Hopkins Crossroad. The south detour will send motorists south on Hopkins Crossroad, east on Minnetonka Boulevard then north on Hwy 169.

During this closure, raised center medians will be installed to enhance pedestrian safety. This closure is expected to last two weeks.

As part of MnDOT's Cedar Lake Road and Jordan Avenue project, Jordan Avenue S. south of Cedar Lake Road will be closed beginning July 27. Cedar Lake Road will remain open.

Last week’s progress:

• Traffic control shift complete
• Sawing and pavement removals on the north side of Cedar Lake Road began

This week’s activities:

• Storm sewer rehabilitation begins on the north side of Cedar Lake Road
• Grading for sidewalk and curb and gutter continues

• Asphalt patching at new curb and gutter complete
• Grading in for sidewalk on the south side of Cedar Lake Road complete
• Sidewalk pouring began on the south side of Cedar Lake Road began

• Sidewalk pouring will continue
• Traffic will be shifted from North to South.

• The completion of storm sewer rehabilitation on the south side of Cedar Lake Road
• Signal pole removal
• Grading for pedestrian improvements began

Next week's activities include:

• Concrete pouring for curb, gutter and sidewalk

On June 11, the project began with work primarily confined to the south side of Cedar Lake Road.

This week's progress:

• Traffic control was installed and traffic was shifted north on Cedar Lake Road
• Curb and sidewalk removals began
• Tree removals were completed on the south side of Cedar Lake Road

• Removal of curb and sidewalk will continue
