The city is proposing street improvements along Cedar Lake Road from Hopkins Crossroad to Hwy 169. The project proposes improvements to pavement, damaged curb and sidewalks, pedestrian ramps, utility castings, traffic signals and pavement markings.

MnDOT will also begin improvements on the intersection of Cedar Lake Road and Jordan Avenue near the Hwy 169 interchange. This work is scheduled to begin in June of 2026.

    On June 11, the project began with work primarily confined to the south side of Cedar Lake Road.

    This week's progress:

    • Traffic control was installed and traffic was shifted north on Cedar Lake Road
    • Curb and sidewalk removals began
    • Tree removals were completed on the south side of Cedar Lake Road

    Next weeks activities:

    • Removal of curb and sidewalk will continue
    • Storm sewer rehabilitation will begin

    During construction, both lanes of Cedar Lake Road over the Hwy 169 Bridge will be reduced to one lane. Temporary four-way stop signs will be installed at the intersections of Cedar Lake Road and both legs of Jordan Avenue South for the entirety of the project.

    With the closure of Jordan Avenue South, both on and off ramps to Cedar Lake Road from northbound 169 will be closed. Detour signs will be posted for motorists. View the detour from northbound Hwy 169 to Cedar Lake Rd. and the detour from Cedar Lake Rd. to northbound Hwy 169.

    Additionally, the east leg of Jordan Avenue South in St Louis Park from Hwy 169 will be closed to Cedar Lake Road for about a month.
