The City of Minnetonka offers a vibrant array of indoor recreation facilities to meet our community's needs. However, as needs evolve, the city's recreation facilities face challenges as they age related to operations, programming and physical infrastructure.

With the purchase of The Marsh in February 2023, the city commissioned a facilities study to create a road map for the future of indoor recreation. The community facilities study will analyze current uses and explore future opportunities of four city recreation facilities:

It will look at how the facilities serve community needs, as well as facility improvements and revenue-generating opportunities. The project, led by HGA consultants, will include multiple opportunities for community engagement over the coming months.

The final study will be a guiding document to determine potential future investments in our recreational facilities with a wide variety of potential options for the four facilities studied. Acceptance of the study does not approve future projects but helps staff prioritize what projects to advance and pursue funding for in the future.
