The Excelsior Group has submitted concept plans to redevelop 2000 Hopkins Crossroad. Each of the four concepts involves building new 10-bedroom, licensed residential care homes for individuals living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. Two concepts call for removing the existing school building, while the other two consider preserving its oldest section.

This project is currently undergoing concept plan review. The planning commission and city council will view the proposal and offer feedback to the applicant, who may then use these insights to prepare a formal plan and application. No formal votes to approve or deny the concept will be taken at this stage.
