Minnetonka Boulevard Trail
The city is proposing a trail project along the north side of Minnetonka Boulevard from Tonkawood Road to The Marsh.
The proposed multi-use paved trail will be eight feet wide for both pedestrians and bicyclists. The goal is to improve safety, connectivity and mobility along Minnetonka Boulevard.
Construction is tentatively set for 2026. Private utilities are expected to begin burial of communications and power lines in 2025. Gas main replacement will take place during this timeframe as well.
The city previously completed a portion of the trail from Woodlawn to Tonkawood Road in 2023.

Trail construction scheduled to begin
Share Trail construction scheduled to begin on Facebook Share Trail construction scheduled to begin on X (formerly Twitter) Share Trail construction scheduled to begin on Linkedin Email Trail construction scheduled to begin linkConstruction crews are scheduled to begin work on trail construction along the north side of Minnetonka Boulevard, from Tonkawood Road to The Marsh. The project includes construction of an eight-foot wide, multi-use paved trail for pedestrians and bicyclists. The proposed trail will be a continuation of the previous trail segment constructed in 2023 between Woodlawn Avenue and Tonkawood Road. Private utility companies have been working to bury overhead power and communication lines. Trail construction will follow once utility work is complete.
During construction, there will be traffic control in the area, which may include periods of lane shifts, flagging and detours. Residential and business access will be maintained. Please follow construction signs, watch for traffic pattern changes and drive carefully through construction areas.
