Construction crews are scheduled to begin work on trail construction along the north side of Minnetonka Boulevard, from Tonkawood Road to The Marsh. The project includes construction of an eight-foot wide, multi-use paved trail for pedestrians and bicyclists. The proposed trail will be a continuation of the previous trail segment constructed in 2023 between Woodlawn Avenue and Tonkawood Road. Private utility companies have been working to bury overhead power and communication lines. Trail construction will follow once utility work is complete.

During construction, there will be traffic control in the area, which may include periods of lane shifts, flagging and detours. Residential and business access will be maintained. Please follow construction signs, watch for traffic pattern changes and drive carefully through construction areas. Construction is expected to last until fall.

The city has been informed that Comcast will interrupt services in the project area to perform work on their infrastructure next week. This will only impact Comcast customers in the area.

The Minnetonka City Council will be asked to consider bids and agreements for the Minnetonka Boulevard Trail project during its Monday, March 23 meeting. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in the second floor Council Chambers at 14600 Minnetonka Blvd.

Minnetonka City Council will be asked to approve a resolution for the construction of the Minnetonka Boulevard Trail project at Monday’s meeting. The project includes a top-priority trail segment between Tonkawood Road and the Marsh along the north side of Minnetonka Boulevard.

The council will meet at 6 p.m. in the second-floor council chambers at 14600 Minnetonka Blvd.

Approval of the resolution would accept the trail plans and specifications and allow the project to be advertised for bids.

The Minnetonka Drive closure, originally scheduled to conclude on Oct. 24, has ended early. Minnetonka Drive can now be accessed from Williston Road.
